Have A Worried Mind?

You’re not alone. Below are several resources that can help bring more balance and peace to your mind.

Did you ever have a day that everything went right?

That the day flowed from one wonderful experience to the next.

That’s how every day should be. You may be reading this thinking the last time  I felt that way I was 6 years old! I had no cares in the world back then and also no responsibilities.

Is it still possible? To feel like a 6-year-old again?

Yes!

It boils down to how you start your day.

Are you grumpy or happy? Do you end your day grumpy or being grateful?

Be so happy that when others look at you, they become happy too!

It isn’t easy, but it’s worth it

Being Happy and Grateful isn’t easy….it won’t come overnight, but every time you make that conscious choice to switch from grumpy to grateful you are switching the outcome of your life.

The February 28th passage titled Courage in Diane Mariechild’s book Open Mind Women’s Daily Inspiration for Becoming Mindful  states “Every person, every creature on this planet, wants to be happy. We don’t know how to make it happen. As human beings we have the opportunity to find real happiness. Happiness comes not from denying our sadness but from opening to the sadness. We must take the risk to feel the sadness, the pain in our own lives, and the pain in the lives of all peoples. This pain will break our hearts open. When the heart is broken, the seeds of joy that have been watered by our tears will blossom.”

By going on a hike, you are allowing yourself to unplug from the day’s stresses. You give your self the time you deserve. You allow yourself to dream about what you wan to do and be when you grow up. (Like you did when you were 6.)

Being good to your mind will do wonders for your body.

A stressed mind will cause/create disease in your body.

Your body/mind is not at-ease it is in a state of dis-ease.

We live in a fast-paced stress filled world. Many of us having longer to-do-lists then we have hours in a day. The idea of peace of mind may feel like not only a far-fetched but impossible dream.

Have you been thinking that?

I’ve found that when I associate with people who are moving forward with a positive focus and bigger vision than my own, I get closer to the concept of peace of mind. My 99-year-old friend told me that remaining curious is one of the three keys to remaining young. Learning and  having mentors are keys to remaining young and maintaining peace of mind.

Most of us as children had peace of mind. There are hundreds of thousands of books out there, from meditation, to yoga, to balancing your checkbook. But getting a good night sleep is one step in the right direction.

Don Migel Ruiz has written a gem of a book called The Four Agreements. If you haven’t read this yet, I encourage you to do so!

Personal Development: Key For A Healthy Mind

Close your eyes and picture your favorite teacher growing up. What were the qualities they had that caused you to look forward to seeing them every day?

Looking back for me, those teachers caused me to stretch out of my comfort zone. In fact, I would get sick before going to my English teacher’s class.

I recommend spending 30 minutes to an hour every day on personal development. This could be reading, or watching, or writing. Anything that is a worthy ideal to pursue. Anything that is your dream, anything that is a goal of yours.

How to Jump start that Personal Development

Attend Humans Being More ST.  This is how I got started with my Personal Development over 22 years ago. They are held throughout North America and most recently virtually too!
